Sawyer MXS-G Oar Shaft takes the proven MXS platform a step further with full carbon fiber braid reinforcement for increased stiffness, strength, and durability. The result is a firmer, responsive shaft with efficient power transfer, built for rowers who want added reinforcement for demanding whitewater and frequent river use.
The MXS-G pairs a longitudinal fiberglass core with a full carbon fiber shaft wrap to balance composite strength with controlled flex. It comes standard with a laminated fir barrel grip and vinyl rubber grip cover, plus a rope wrap and rubber stop for shaft protection and consistent positioning in the oarlock.
Oar blades are sold separately. The MXS-G Oar Shaft accepts Sawyer Oar Blades with a 1 5/8" Tite-Set mount, allowing you to choose the blade that best matches your boat, rowing style, and water conditions.
Oar Shaft Length
Composite oar shaft lengths are sized according to the fully assembled overall oar length with a standard 30" Sawyer oar blade and handle attached. For example, if you want a 9' finished oar, select the 9' MXS-G shaft option. Available lengths range from 7'6" to 12' overall.
